MichaelBaker International is seeking an enthusiastic, articulate, motivated ProjectManager II to join our dynamic and growing Project Management team at our MoonTownship, PA office. A current focus of our team is on growing the Federal(Department of Defense – DoD), Federal Civilian (non-DoD) Agencies, andInternational project opportunities, along with market-driven diversificationincluding Healthcare, Transit, and Adaptive Re-Use. The successful candidatewill be an architect or engineer that demonstrates significant experience withFederal clients delivering their large, complex Architectural/Engineering (A/E)projects, including Design/Build delivery, that includes geographicallydispersed, multi-disciplinary, collaborative project design teams composed ofarchitects, civil engineers, building systems engineers and interior designers.Responsible for all aspects of project management – cradle to grave – thecandidate must be adept at reviewing proposals/plans to determine probabilitiesof winning an opportunity, making recommendations, determining project timeframes and funding limitations, outlining procedures for accomplishing projectrequirements and allotment of available resources to various project phases. Additionally,the candidate must demonstrate strong collaboration and communication skillswith the ability to develop new – and deepen existing – positive relationships,both internally and externally, with colleagues and new clients, respectively. Articulate,concise and consistent communication is essential for working with leadershipand with project staff to outline workplan, assign duties, responsibilities,quality control and scope of authority, all the while ensuring that projectmilestones and objectives are accomplished within the prescribed scope,schedule and budget parameters and finally, clearly documenting/communicating projectprogress to team and leadership.

Otheressential skills include creative problem-solving, organizational skills,financial project management skills, strong production management capabilities,and a good understanding of construction documents and constructability. Asense of humor never hurts.

  • Develop/implementproject work plans/methodologies for complex projects
  • Direct and coordinateactivities of project personnel to ensure project progresses on schedule andwithin budget
  • Generate purchase ordersand invoices
  • Participate ininterviews with prospective employees
  • Leverage existingrelationships to help create new opportunities for Michael Baker International
  • Review status reportsprepared by project personnel and modify schedules or plans, as required
  • Prepare project reportsfor management, clients or others

  • Possess a proficientunderstanding of inter-relationships among design/engineering disciplines,clients, and Design/Build constructors
  • Experience with proposalmanagement and Design/Build technical response proposals
  • Must be able to buildrapport and establish positive relationships with existing and prospectiveMichael Baker International clients to ensure client-focused performance
  • Understand Michael BakerInternational’s competitor services and offerings; actively seek to build ourtechnical services to be comparable with, or superior to, competitors’consulting service offerings
  • Knowledge of BuildingInformation Modeling (BIM)[Autodesk Revit Architecture/AutoCAD] software(current software versions)


  • BS/BA Architecture orEngineering; Bachelor of Architecture; or MS/MA Architecture or Engineering
  • Licensed Architect (RA)or Professional Engineer (PE)
  • LEED Accredited ProfessionalBD+C is highly preferred
  • PMP Credentialspreferred
  • Minimum of 10-15 yearsof experience in the coordination and management of architecture andengineering projects beyond initial licensure
  • Travel is required
