Job Summary:

The Vice President of Global Sourcing will lead strategic procurement efforts across the Integer organization for direct and indirect procurement spend. Reporting to the SVP Global Operations, this position has responsibility for all Sourcing performance across all aspects of business, category, and supply base management. Scope includes development and execution of effective sourcing strategies and delivering on procurement performance objectives including supplier delivery, optimization of spend metrics, working capital improvements and efficiency.

This role will partner with leaders in all product categories and functions with responsibility for strategy development, creating process improvements, and deployment. In addition, the incumbent, will have oversight of the purchasing process and practices, both globally and locally.

Accountabilities & Responsibilities:

  • Establish a global sourcing strategy that meets business objectives and challenges and drives significant year over year spend improvement
  • Develop and implement ambitious strategies to enable global spend leverage and pricing, quality, delivery and risk management with the supply base
  • Address supply issues impacting cost, quality and delivery
  • Deliver required business results including efficiency/cost, working capital improvement, supplier performance and continuity of all materials and services
  • Create a world-class procurement team to develop collaborative sourcing strategies across the corporation that deliver productivity, mitigate risk, improve lead-times, enhance service levels, improve supplier quality, and reduce working capital.
  • Lead and mentor the direct and indirect Procurement leadership team and global team
  • Develop procurement talent management processes including the development of talent pipelines for Procurement
  • Develop and maintain effective supplier relationships to support business needs
  • Effectively consolidate “tail” suppliers with identified strategic and preferred suppliers
  • Identify and develop new/current suppliers globally and in region who have the capacity and capability to meet the cost, quality and service needs of the business
  • Understand trends in key geographic markets for alternate materials or services to ensure Integer has optimal supply solutions
  • Employ policies and practices to reduce the cash to cash conversion cycle
  • Lead various corporate-wide and operations-specific initiatives as required.
  • Develop Procurement policies and procedures that outline best practice guidelines and promote the highest professional and ethical standards.
  • Identifies supplier issues and opportunities and manages suppliers to drive continuous improvement, innovation, and optimization.
  • Performs other duties as required.
  • Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, with preference for Technical or Business degrees. MBA preferred.
  • Purchasing Certification (CPM or CPIM) strongly preferred.
  • A minimum of 15 years related business experience, with at least 5 years’ experience managing procurement and/or operations functions, required.
  • Knowledge & Skills:

  • Strong leadership skills
  • Working knowledge of finance and/or accounting in terms of budgeting, cost management, financial accounting, treasury, risk management, etc.
  • In-depth knowledge of sourcing and procurement principles and best practices
  • Familiarity with relevant legislative and regulatory requirements, as well as understanding of standard contractual terms and conditions to mitigate legal risk
  • Strategic mindset and problem-solving skills
  • Diverse industry experience; Medical device outsourcing experience a plus
  • Highly motivated with the ability to multi-task and provide timely feedback on all projects to all stakeholders
  • Strong Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Oracle skills/experience preferred
  • Excellent organizational, analytical and communication/interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated success implementing procurement best practices
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, influence, and build credibility with numerous stakeholders (executive, functional, plant management, operations, marketing, customers, and suppliers) to achieve desired outcomes.
